Richard Clough Gwathmey
Life Experience
Richard Clough Gwathmey was educated at Thomas Elliott’s school in Kentucky and also at Bacon College (now University of Kentucky). He graduated from IU with his bachelor’s degree at age eighteen. He made his living as a schoolteacher. He relocated to San Bernardino, California, in the mid-1870s. He died there, but his remains were moved to Kentucky to be buried with his parents.
Marriage and Family
Gwathmey never married or had any children. He was the younger brother of Isaac Benjamin Gwathmey.
