Barton Warren Wilson
Life Experience
Born in Kentucky, Barton Warren Wilson graduated from IU with his bachelor’s degree in 1845 and earned his law degree in 1847. He was a lawyer and judge. When he died in Greensburg, Indiana, in 1879, he was the most senior member of the city’s court. His eulogist wrote that he was known “as a very genial, affable gentleman, and also for the strictness of his integrity and uprightness as a man.”
Marriage and Family
Wilson married Mary Grover. They had two daughters: Elizabeth and Ella, born in 1855 and 1858, respectively. The daughters did not marry.
