Elam Hamilton Waugh
Life Experience
Born on Christmas Day in 1815, Elam Hamilton Waugh was one of six children. His younger brother, James Harvey, died in 1864 in Tennessee. Waugh died in 1891 in Colorado.
Marriage and Family
Waugh married Margaret Ann Dodds in 1840, and they had three sons and two daughters. His middle son, Addison, was killed at age sixteen while serving as a clerk in a Kansas drugstore during the Quantrill raid of 1863. His wife, Margaret, died in 1865. Six years later, Waugh married Delia Olney.
