Life Experience
William Edward Simpson was born in Virginia in 1823. He died less than a year after graduating from IU in 1845, at the age of twenty-two. He was also a member of the Presbyterian church.
Interesting Anecdote
Theophilus Wylie (Presbyterian minister, college professor, and cousin of IU’s first president, Andrew Wylie) wrote, he “was a young man of fine personal appearance and address, of excellent mind, and was much esteemed by both professors and students.”
