Life Experience

Joseph Franklin Nichols was educated in the common schools of Bloomington, Indiana. He started attending Indiana College (now IU) in 1831 at age fourteen. He graduated from IU in 1837 and then received his Doctor of Medicine from the Louisville Medical Institute in 1840. He was a practicing physician before dying in Illinois at age twenty-six.
