John Orchard McKinney was a dentist by profession. He died five years after graduation from IU. He was found dead in Rockville; he had hung himself upon learning that a certain local lady got married.
Interesting Anecdote
IU President Andrew Wiley’s family marveled that whenever they would visit McKinney’s home, he would “have no recess or talking & sings away until 10 o’clock.”
