Life Experience

Seth Marshall Leavenworth was the son and namesake of a state representative for Indiana and a member of the Indiana University Board of Trustees. He graduated from IU in 1839, studied law with Mr. Edson of Mount Vernon, Indiana, and engaged in trade before becoming a cashier at the First National Bank of Mount Vernon.
