Zenas Kell McLeod Hoge was educated at the Princeton Seminary before coming to Bloomington and graduating from IU in 1840. He worked in farming.
Hoge and Elizabeth Melia Baker married in 1840, the same year he graduated from IU. He died three months after the birth of his son and namesake, Zenas Archie Parks Hogue, which was also the same year as the death of his 3-year-old daughter Willie. He and his daughter were both buried in Texas.
