Daviess Batterton
Life Experience
Daviess Batterton was an editor and druggist. He held the position of County Superintendent and was a member of the Indiana Legislature. In a letter of recommendation written by Andrew Wylie on August 21, 1848, President Wylie noted, "His attainments in Science and Literature are unusual in scholars of his age."
Marriage and Family
Batterton married Margaret Ann Hazelrigg in 1849. They had four children.
